1. The 2nd
Currently, The 2nd is #1 on Netflix's "Top 10 Movies in the U.S. Today." The 2nd was directed by Brian Skiba. Famous cast members include: Ryan Phillippe and Jack Griffo. This movie is action-packed and filled with lots of adventure with an intense plot. A secret service agent, Vic, is placed in the middle of a terrorist plot. He must save his son and his friend, Erin who is the daughter of a Supreme Court Justice, from armed terrorists. Erin notices an unusual number of people watching her very closely. She notices that her driver is not her usual escort and notifies Vic. Vic plunges into action to save Erin from being kidnapped which puts him and his son's lives at risk.
I really enjoyed this movie. It is action-packed movie that keeps you wondering what will happen next. This is a movie for you if you like action movies. The 2nd is a definite "watch"!
2. The Christmas Chronicles 2
As of now, The Christmas Chronicles 2 is ranked number 2 under Netlix's "Top 10 Movies in the U.S. Today." The Christmas Chronicles 2 is directed by Chris Columbus. Famous cast members include: Kurt Russell, Goldie Hawn, and Darby Camp. This is a family comedy movie. Main character, Kate finds herself unhappy with her mother's new relationship. Kate then runs away from home and lands at The North Pole. There she meets an evil elf who is plotting to cancel Christmas. Kate must stop the naughty elf and save Christmas.
This movie is an average family film. It would be a perfect movie to watch with your family around the holidays. However, I did not enjoy it. The film was a bit cheesy and predictable. Therefore, In my book, this is a "Pass."
3. Peppermint
Right now, Peppermint is sitting at #3 in Netflix's "Top 10 Movies in the U.S. Today." Peppermint is directed by Pierre Morel. Famous cast members include: Jennifer Garner and John Ortiz. This film is a violent crime action movie. After her entire family was murdered, Riley North awakens from a coma after surviving a brutal attack. She learns that the attacks left her husband and daughter dead. The justice system failed her family's murderers so she transforms herself into a deadly vigilante to serve her own justice.
This movie is fantastic! I already want to watch it again. This might be my new favorite movie. As a warning, it is very violent and is rated R. I would not suggest watching this with younger audiences. This movie is a definite must watch!
